Tony Wenas is currently the Executive General Manager of Intrepid Mines Ltd. Immediately before joining Intrepid he was the Chairman of PT Riau Andalan Pulp & Paper (APRIL). Until 2011 he served as the President Director & Chief Executive Officer of PT Vale International Tbk. (formerly PT INCO), one the world’s leaders in nickel mining owned majority by Vale, SA – Brazil. Mr. Wenas was Director & Executive Vice President/General Counsel of PT Freeport Indonesia, an affiliate of Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. Tony Wenas also currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Indonesia Mining Association (IMA), Chairman of South America Committee and Vice Chairman of Korea Committee at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Vice Chairman of Indonesian Listed Companies Association. Mr. Wenas obtained his Bachelor of Law (majoring in Business Law) from the University of Indonesia in 1985, and attended the Executive Program at Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

He has more than 30 years of experience in mining and related business industries, and in the last 11 years focused in the coal mining industry. He was the General Manager and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PT United Tractors Tbk and also served as Director of PT Pamapersada Nusantara and President Director of PT Berau Coal. He was Chairman of Indonesian Coal Mining Association and Indonesian Mining Association . Recently he is appointed as Vice Chairman of Indonesian Coal Mining Association for Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility sector and he is a Chairman of Forum on Forest Reclamation on Post Mining Area. Mr Mulyono obtained his Engineering degree from Bandung Institute of Technology in 1980.

Ilham holds a PhD in aeronautical engineering from the Technical University of Munich and a MBA from the University of Chicago. Ilham’s previous professional background is largely with aerospace companies. While still working in the aerospace industry, he co-founded in 1991 PT. ILTHABI Rekatama, a private investment company in Indonesia, which he joined as a President Director in 2002. Through ILTHABI he invested into various companies in the fields of energy, mining, manufacturing and technology, mainly in Indonesia but also abroad. He is on various boards of the companies in which ILTHABI has invested, mostly as a non-executive director.
Ilham also holds important positions at professional and social organizations, such as the Chairman of the Committee for Germany, Austria and Switzerland of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KIKJAS-KADIN), and as the Chairman of the Organization of Indonesian German-Alumni (PAJ). He has held senior positions within several major resource companies both in Australia and internationally, having worked for Alcoa, British Gas, Western Metals, Rustenburg Platinum and was the founder of Zambezi Resource Ltd in 2005. Mr Ford graduated in 1987 with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Natal, Durban, South Africa, and later completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of South Africa and a Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Western Australia. Mr Ford is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Peter Geoffrey Albert, aged 54, was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Hong Kong based precious metals mining company G-Resources on 22 July 2009. Mr. Albert is a Metallurgist and holds an Executive MBA degree. He has 30 years of experience in project management, general management and operations management in mining and minerals processing in Australia, Africa and Asia. He is a member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (London), a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Chartered Engineer. He has previously worked for companies such as Oxiana Limited, Fluor Daniel and Shell Billiton.

Mr Hanna has over 30 years experience as a coal geologist in the areas of exploration and evaluation including planning, budgeting and managing drilling programmes in Australia and Indonesia and has reviewed and consulted on over 40 coal projects in Australia, Asia, USA, Canada, South Africa, Mozambique, Ukraine and New Zealand. Dr. Achmad Reza Widjaja is the Chief Economist for PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI). He also serves as the Vice Chairman of Permanent Committee for Fiscal and Monetary at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). He has served as a speaker, session chair and moderator in many international conferences in finance, economics and mining sector including Singapore Economic Review Conference, Indonesia Investment Forum, Dublin Conference on International Finance, and Indonesia Mining World Conferences. Dr. Widjaja is also an adjunct senior lecturer of economics at the Universitas Bakrie and BINUS University. Mr. Pilch currently holds the position of Director of Operations at PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (PTNHM) – Gosowong Gold Mine, a joint venture company between Newcrest Mining Limited and PT Antam (Persero) Tbk, located in North Halmahera District of North Maluku Province. Mr. Pilch has made significant contribution to the company during his 14 year tenure with emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility, Government Relations and Community. Rozik Boedioro Soetjipto is one of the senior figures of Indonesia's mining industry. Mr Soetjipto currently serves as the President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia since 2012. He also sits in the Board of Commissioners of PT Freeport Indonesia since 2000. Previously, Mr Soetjipto has held several key positions in Indonesian government institutions. He was the State Minister of Public Works, Republic of Indonesia (1999-2000) and was the Director General of Mines, Department of Mines and Energy, Republic of Indonesia (1998-1999). During his term at the Department of Mines and Energy, Mr Soetjipto has authored a number of publications regarding mining industry in Indonesia. Keith Spence is President and Partner of Global Mining Capital Corp; an investment company engaged in Private Equity investments in the resources sector. The company co-invests and pre-invests with Chinese and other partners in mining projects globally. As an investment banker and corporate banker, Mr. Spence held senior positions in mining finance and capital markets at Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets and Bank of Montreal Capital Markets. He has been involved in numerous international mineral resource financings. As a geologist, Mr. Spence has worked in the Canadian North, China and internationally; in exploration for Gold and Base Metals. Mr. Spence was also President of a stock exchange– listed mining company in western China. He sits on the international Board of "China Mining" in Tianjin, China, the Board of PDAC, the Royal Ontario Museum and also sat on the Board of Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum. Mr. Spence is Co-Chairman of the Canadian Mining Valuation Standards, which are required by the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He has a Hons. Mr. Supriatna Suhala was born in Majalaya, West Java, Indonesia on 26 August 1947. He got the first degree in Mining Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia in 1975 and he got the second degree (MSc.) from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia in 1986. From 1975 to 1997 he worked in the Research Center for Mineral and Coal Technology and he became the Director of the Center from 1995 to 1997. From 1998 to 2007 he hold various key position in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. His experience in the mineral industry was becoming member of Board of Commissioner of PT Aneka Tambang Tbk. (the state owned mining company) from 1997 to 2008. Prior to his retirement from public services, he work as Executive Director of Indonesian Coal Mining Association from 2008 until now. Mr. Alastair McIntyre is Senior Managing Director, Behre Dolbear Asia in Hong Kong providing technical advisory services to the mining and metals community in Asia. He has more than 30 years of global experience in the mining business with 17 years spent in the banking and finance sectors. Mr. McIntyre began his career as a geologist and holds a B. Sc. (Geology) and a B. Comm. (Bus Admin and Economics) from Dalhousie University in Canada. Mr. McIntyre held senior positions in the mining, finance and banking sectors in Hong Kong, Sydney, and Toronto and has been involved multi-product commodity capital markets and hedging deals. Mr. McIntyre has a diversified understanding of the mining business through running metals sales and marketing desks, managing mining companies and working as an underground mine geologist.He has been involved in working with companies looking to fund and list their assets on Asian based stock exchanges and has served as COO for a U.S. publicly traded gold mining company with assets in China and Executive Director for a private Indonesian company developing a Pb/Zn deposit in South Sumatera, Indonesia. Mr McIntyre was also Project Manager in Behre Dolbear's role of Commercial Advisor to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange acquisition of the London Metals Exchange in 2012. Dr Susie Wood is a Managing Consultant in Wood Mackenzie's Metals & Mining Consulting practice. Wood Mackenzie provides independent energy, metals and mining industry advice to clients worldwide, including suppliers, consumers, resource holders and financial stakeholders. Susie manages a wide range of consulting projects focused on the Asia Pacific region, and Indonesia in particular. Her recent experience includes: industry and market reports in support of IPOs, project financing, and other transactions; asset valuations; resource monetisation studies; marketing strategy development; and fuel procurement strategy and due diligence. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, Susie was a research associate in the energy and resources group at the University of Sydney. With degrees in Engineering from Glasgow, UC Berkeley and Hong Kong, Dr Younger is a recognized leader in infrastructure development across Asia, having held a range of senior academic, consulting and business development roles in Hong Kong, Thailand and Indonesia over the past 33 years. He has served as project manager and consultant in many World Bank and ADB funded road and water sector programs, and was Team Leader for the UK and World Bank funded, award winning Master's Degree program in Highway and Transport Engineering at the Institute of Technology Bandung, 1986-93. He serves as President Commissioner of PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk and as Commissioner for the East Bali Poverty Project, a model in sustainable development. In 2003 he was awarded the OBE. Dr. Younger is President Commissioner of Glendale Partners, a leading infrastructure, natural resources, renewable energy and consulting firm based in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Chairman of the EuroCham Working Group on Infrastructure, and Senior Vice-Chairman of the International Business Chamber, with a particular remit to reporst in infrastructure. Former Member of the Board of the British Chamber of Commerce (1996 – 2004 and 2010 – 2012) and former Vice-Chairman and Head of Infrastructure and Sustainable Development Working Groups of the EuroCham (2008 – 2010). He has published many papers in the field of infrastructure and is a regular speaker at conferences and on discussion panels. He is also a regular columnist of the regional business magazine Globe Asia, a writer for Forbes, an Honorary Research Fellow of Glasgow University and Fellow of the Linnean Society.

 
 

David Holme

David is a partner of Allens and is currently seconded as a Senior Foreign Legal Adviser to Widyawan & Partners, the firm's Jakarta office. David's practice focuses on energy, resources and infrastructure (ERI) in Asia, and also advises international clients on mergers and acquisitions and general corporate and commercial matters in the ERI sectors.
David has lived in Asia since 2005 where he was based in the firm's Singapore office. In 2008, he was seconded to be based in Jakarta full time as a foreign legal adviser with Widyawan & Partners. David has many years of experience advising international and Indonesian mining clients such as Newcrest, Vale, Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, PT Antam Tbk, Mitsubishi Corporation, CLP, China Investment Corporation, and more on its mining investments and projects in Indonesia and abroad.

Abdul Hadhi

Abdul Hadhi joined Argus in 2008 and heads the team responsible for price discovery and news coverage of the thermal and coking coal as well as petroleum coke markets in the Asia-Pacific region, based out of the company’s Singapore office. During his tenure, Hadhi initiated coking coal coverage as well as expanded the Argus suite of thermal coal assessments to include delivered prices into South China and fob prices for low rank Indonesian and off-spec Australian coal. He has also made presentations on coal and petroleum coke at various conferences. He joined Argus from ICIS – part of Reed Business Information – where he headed the Asia-Pacific news team for petrochemicals. Previously, Hadhi has worked as a financial correspondent with major newswires and newspapers. Hadhi began his career as a courts and crime reporter with Singapore Press Holdings. He holds an MBA from Hull and BA Honours in History from National University of Singapore.

Dr Tyler Biggs

Dr. Biggs is an experienced Economist with over 35 years of academic and professional experience in international economics as a policy advisor, program manager, researcher and educator specializing in trade and private sector development. He has extensive expertise in evaluating impacts of policy reform and development projects.

Dr. Biggs has taught and conducted research under the auspices of the Ford Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and for several international and domestic universities, including UC-Berkeley, the University of Ibadam (Nigeria), The University of Nairobi, Quaid-i-Azam University (Pakistan) and the Harvard Institute for International Development at Harvard University.As Manager and Lead Economist for the Regional Program for Enterprise Development in Africa, Dr. Biggs advised the World Bank's Country Departments and Member Governments on private sector development and international trade and competitiveness, structured and negotiated loans and projects, and prepared Country Economic Memoranda and Sector Studies.During his 11 years at the World Bank, Dr. Biggs also worked on various positions for the Bank in Asia and Eastern Europe.Since his retirement from the World Bank in 2002, Dr. Biggs has devoted his time to independent consultan cy where he has researched and synthesized a number of issue- and region-specific studies. His recent studies include: evaluation of Indonesian industrial technology development project; assessment of investment climate and the contribution of entrepreneurial firms to economic development in Africa; the impact of exchange rate fluctuation on the economy in Mozambique and export constraints in Africa. He has conducted assessments of business environment and regulation, trade reform, trade integration as well as SME development and manufacturing performance in a number of countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Dr. Biggs has a Ph.D. in Economics and M.A. in Statistics from University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of multiple publications and research papers on subjects such as investment climate, effects of trade integration, enterprise development, trade reforms and economic policy reform.
